Maneira Advogados has expanded the range of services, introduced new partners and celebrated an international association and the opening of a new branch
The firm now also works in the areas of Corporate Law, M&A, Telecommunications, Media and Technology, Data Protection and Labor Law.
The firm has also reinforced the area of Customs, Agribusiness and Tax Law with the incorporation of new partners.
Moreover, Maneira Advogados has just joined Ecija – one of the largest European law firms, based in Spain and with a strong presence in Latin America, adding more than 750 professionals worldwide.
To complete the news, Maneira Advogados, which already has offices in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasília, also announces the inauguration of a new branch in Belo Horizonte, expanding its professional team.
NEW AREAS
For the new areas, the firm has incorporated Gabriel Vidal Corbage, Renata Borges, and Pedro Brito as new partners of the Corporate and M&A area. Vidal has more than 12 years of experience in legal counseling for national and international companies. Renata has more than 20 years of experience in corporate law, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring. Pedro Brito has been a corporate lawyer for almost 30 years and has been internationally recognized by Chambers (BAND 4).
Anna Luiza Berredo and Cristiane Sanches will be the new partners of the TMT, Privacy and Personal Data Protection areas. Anna has vast experience acquired in law firms and oil & gas, telecom and technology companies, with strong performance in advisory and preventive law. Cristiane brings her experience in telecommunications regulation and new technologies. Her practice will be focused on consulting and advocacy. Currently, Cristiane is a member of the Advisory Board of Anatel (with a mandate until 2023) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Association of Internet Providers and Telecommunications (Abrint).
REINFORCEMENT IN TAX LAW
With more than 25 years of experience and international recognition, Marcos André Vinhas Catão comes to Maneira Advogados to add to an already established team to handle tax matters. Catão is a professor of the Master in Tax Counseling of Universidad Complutense de Madrid, is director of the Brazilian Association of Financial Law – ABDF and Brazil’s representative in the Steering Committee of the Latin American section of IFA (IFA Latam).
Veronica Melo de Souza, with outstanding performance in law firms and companies, and expertise in transfer pricing, interpretation of international treaties, and taxation of cross-borders transactions, also arrives as partner in the tax area.
Tania Laredo will be the partner in charge of Customs Tax Law. The lawyer has more than 11 years of experience, with emphasis on specialized tax litigation in the federal, state, and municipal spheres, in administrative and judicial spheres, advising companies from the most varied segments.
Bárbara Carneiro, a lawyer with a master’s degree in controllership and accounting from USP, former member of Carf (Administrative Council of Tax Appeals), who has been working for more than 11 years in consulting for large companies, family succession projects, and matters directly related to corporate tax planning, will also join the team.
BELO HORIZONTE UNIT
In Belo Horizonte, Maneira Advogados is opening a new unit, which will be focused on Labor Law (under the command of André Schmidt de Brito, who has been practicing law for more than 30 years in the area, with relevant and recognized performance in the Superior Courts); Corporate Law (with partner Pedro Brito); and Tax Law (with Bárbara Carneiro).
